About
Let yourself go across the bridge with John Ben Regesh was raised as a Catholic and received a religious education in parochial school and then by the Jesuits. Even after leaving the seminary he was still fascinated by religion and God and the relationship between God and man. After completing Law School he continued to study religion joining churches and then moving on. He joined and left the the Roman Catholic Church, Evangelical Christians, Episcopal Church, Judaism, and Anglican churches.
There are so many conflicts between what is said in the Bible and what the clergy are teaching that John set the Book down and started to analyze it like it was a legal problem, taking what different people said and comparing it to the baseline: the Teachings of Jesus Christ. It didn't take long to realize that someone was not teaching what Jesus taught.
Then taking a look at the history of the Church and the men putting together what went into and did not go into what we call the New Testament, John realized that anything which conflicts with what Jesus taught is not scripture and must be stricken in its entirety from the book. This has brought about this book which is only first in a series of books laying out what true Christianity should look like.
While compelling, if you have raised the Bible to the level of an icon and believe that no matter what, it is the complete unerring word, then this book is not for you. If you do not have an open mind and wish to find out what Jesus truly taught, then this book is not for you. If you believe in this new age fantasy that love trumps all, don't even think of buying this book. For this author says, Paul lied and Love is not what you think it is. This book leads you back to Jesus Christ, the fact that He is God's Son and that if you love Him you will keep all of His commandments, the ones where no jot or tittle will ever pass away.
